Matt Johnston is a Managing Director and Co-Head of U.S. Real Estate Acquisitions at Pretium. Since joining Pretium in 2021, Mr. Johnston launched the new home or build-to-rent investment business, prior to expanding his acquisition focus more broadly.

Prior to joining Pretium in 2021, Mr. Johnston spent 20 years in real estate investment management, most recently as a senior member of the U.S. real estate team at Elliott Management Corporation for 10 years. Prior to joining Elliott, Mr. Johnston was at Fortress Investment Group as a part of the Private Equity Fund Group in New York and Eurocastle Investment Limited in Frankfurt. He began his real estate investment career at Clarion Partners.

Mr. Johnston graduated from New York University with a Bachelors in Economics and Finance.
